Quality & Test Engineer - India

Position: Permanent, Full Time/Flexible

Overview:
ATG- Q, a division of global sourcing experts ATG, provides inspection services for castings and forgings, composite and plastic components, fabrications and precision machined components manufactured in India & China. We have teams of native speaking engineers in both of these countries who carry out inspection services for our customers in order to qualify them before they are shipped.

We are looking for a Quality & Test Engineer to join our successful team. This is an excellent opportunity in a fast growing company for an engineer with a proven track record in product inspection and test. Based in India, the successful candidate will be self-motivated with a strong work ethic and a desire to advance their career.

Responsibilities
  • Set detailed guidelines on what needs to be checked and what the quality standards are by working with customer’s technical teams
  • Update our Quality Management System (QMS) with incidents, fixes and improvements
  • Audit our systems based on ISO 9001:2015 requirements
  • Determine quality metrics for all manufacturing procedures
  • Monitor the entire production cycle and perform regular tests to identify potential malfunctions as early as possible where specified
  • Inspect to ensure that products and processes comply with requirements, using established engineering techniques
  • Ensure all quality data is captured
  • Identify the root of technical issues and recommend fixes when required
  • Prepare reports on malfunctions and corrective actions (e.g. number of defective raw materials per order) when required
  • Review current blueprints and quality documentation
  • Set and track quality assurance goals (e.g. reduce average turnaround time for quality checks by pre-set KPI)
  • Coordinate with external quality assurance auditors and technicians to ensure legal compliance
  • Work with internal teams to increase customer satisfaction by improving the quality of the products
  • Domestic & international travel to fulfil respoensibilities

Qualifications and Skills
  • High diploma or above in Mechanical Engineering or relevant subjects
  • Previous experience in a Production Engineering environment and in a Quality/ Inspection role
  • Working knowledge of with AQL standard
  • Good command of written and spoken English
  • Must be able to show a good practical use of measuring equipment and measuring techniques
  • Capable of making independent decisions
  • Excellent computer skills; Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Excellent organisational and strong verbal and written skills
  • Excellent team working and adaptability
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety requirements

  • Ability to prioritise workload
